About Us
Our Mission
RentSure NYC is designed to take the mystery, and the stress, out of finding rent-stabilized apartments in New York City. Nearly half of NYC's rental units are protected by rent stabilization laws, but until now, knowing whether a specific unit is truly stabilized has been nearly impossible until lease signing. We're here to change that by providing a comprehensive database of verified rent-stabilized apartments across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.
Our Story
In a Reddit post, we shared how we personally spent weeks touring Brooklyn apartments, only to discover a unit was stabilized at the last minute, after signing the lease. That experience inspired us to build a shared data resource so nobody else has to go through the same hassle.
How RentSure NYC Works
- Building Screening – We start with the official NYC list of buildings that contain at least one stabilized unit. We then pull every currently listed unit on StreetEasy that lives in those buildings, including apartments in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.
- Confidence Scoring – Our algorithm combines publicly available details: rent history, year built, unit size, listing price and more – to assign each unit a stabilization-confidence score, helping you identify the most likely rent-stabilized apartments in NYC.
- Daily Updates – Listings and scores refresh every day to keep you working with the latest availability of rent-controlled and rent-stabilized apartments throughout New York City.
Why RentSure?
- Zero Extra Cost: Use all features for free—no signup required.
- Save Time: Weed out unlikely units and focus your apartment hunt.
- Data-Driven: Turn opaque, late-stage research into clear, up-front insights.
Disclaimer
While we strive for accuracy, rent-stabilization status can only be confirmed through official lease riders, building management, or DHCR records. Always verify on-site before signing.
